  • Residents invited to help shape the future of EV charging in Tamworth and wider Staffordshire
  • Survey seeking views on current and future EV charging needs
  • Open to everyone, including those without EVs or off-street parking

In partnership with Staffordshire County Council, Tamworth Borough Council is asking residents to share their views on current and future needs for electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs across the borough.

The survey will help inform how Staffordshire County Council should use government Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) to deliver community EV charging hubs at council-owned and community locations across Tamworth.

A short public survey, taking around 10 minutes to complete, is now open and is seeking feedback on hub locations, design, accessibility, and how charging should be operated. The results will be used by Staffordshire County Council to inform their proposals before any planning or installation decisions are made.

Anyone can respond; you do not need to own an EV to take part. The council particularly wants to hear from people who rely on public charging, those without off-street parking, and residents with accessibility needs.

Tamworth already has public EV charging outlets at various locations in the borough. Expanding this network will help make sure the charging points available meet the needs of residents and visitors as more people choose electric vehicle.

Councillor David Foster, portfolio holder for environmental sustainability, waste, recycling and transport, said:
“With more and more people choosing electric vehicles, this is a real opportunity for Tamworth residents to help shape future supply of charging hubs and options. I would encourage as many people as possible to take part - the more responses we get, the better placed we'll be to make the right decisions.”
