Tamworth Borough Council have a number of Scheduled Monuments throughout the borough, some of which are also listed buildings. Historic England hold the database of all scheduled monuments which are continuously updated. It can be accessed on the Historic England website where you can search for a listed building by name or location.

In some circumstances, works to a scheduled monument may also required Scheduled Monument Consent from Historic England

Although Tamworth Borough Council does not have an archaeologist on staff, any enquiries regarding archaeology and scheduled monuments are handled by Staffordshire County Council  who can be contacted at her@staffordshire.gov.uk 

The County Council also manage the Historic Environment Record which records a wealth of information pertaining to heritage assets and archaeological records.
