Lights, camera action! Tamworth Borough Council are excited to announce that a new TV advert has been filmed at Tamworth Castle, and it’s coming to your screens soon.

Filming for a brand-new TV advert about the town’s iconic castle, took place last week as part of a project supported by the governments UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The project is aimed to help put Tamworth Castle further on ‘the map’ to attract and encourage more visitors far and wide.

The filming was carried out by midlands production company ‘Simply Thrilled’, with a local cast of people of all ages from across the borough, and features footage from the Heritage Open Day crafts tent, the We Love Tamworth event, and inside the castle rooms.

The advert will be ready for launching on the council social media platforms in the next few weeks and will be broadcasted on TV from April next year.

Andrew Barratt, Chief Executive for Tamworth Borough Council, said: “Our award-winning castle has lots to offer visitors with a significant programme of annual events including living history, storytelling, ghost searches, Christmas activities and literary festivals.

“We are excited to see the final edit of this new advert, promoting our hidden gem, if you were involved in the casting or was in town on the filming days, look out for yourself on TV!”
