Tamworth Borough Council is facing one of the biggest changes to local government in a generation.
Government’s plans for local government reorganisation means that Tamworth Borough Council will be replaced by a larger unitary authority, or authorities, covering a wider area than the borough alone. To find out more about this, please visit our Local government reorganisation and devolution page.
No matter what the future might look like for Tamworth Borough Council, we want to ask local people if we should create a parish council for the whole borough of Tamworth, which will be split into wards.
To do this, we’ve started a formal legal process called a community governance review.
The main purpose of this review is to understand whether there is support for setting up a parish council for Tamworth.
