FAQs
Q. Can I now bid on properties?
A. Yes - customers are now able to place weekly bids on properties advertised via the finding a home site at www.tamworth.gov.uk . To bid, you will need to have an active housing register application.
Q. What will this mean for me?
A. This means that as a customer, you are able to bid weekly on properties advertised. If you are successful for the bid, you will be contacted by the Void and Allocations team. You will be able to place bids on the site and if applicable, bids will be placed on your behalf if you are subject to proxy bidding due to banding.
Q. Are there any differences to the finding a home site?
A. Yes - as we are still developing the site there are areas that are different.
Currently, you will not need to log in to the site, as long as you have your housing register application number you will be able to place a bid.
The second difference is that at this time the system will allow you to place more than 3 bids on properties. Please note that only the first 3 bids you place will be counted, any subsequent bids made will be discarded.
Q. Where can I see the lettings results?
A. You can continue to review the properties we have allocated via our website: www.tamworth.gov.uk/finding-home-lettings-results
Q. Can I still register for housing in Tamworth?
A. Yes, you can still register for housing. Applications must be submitted through our MyHousing portal. Please visit this link to create an account on MyHousing and complete your application
Q. How will nominations work?
A. Housing association properties will be advertised on the finding a home site. When customers view the advert, it will tell you who the landlord is. If the landlord is a housing association, this will be clear on the advert. As a customer, you will be able to bid on properties weekly.
Q. How long will the bidding cycle be open for?
A. The weekly bidding cycle will run from midnight on a Wednesday and close at midnight on a Monday. This remains unchanged from the previous finding a home site.
Q. What if I have been already been allocated a property
A. If you have been allocated a property you will be contacted and invited to an accompanied viewing at the address as normal with the void and allocations team when it is ready to let.
Q. Can I provide feedback on the new site?
A. Yes- we welcome your user feedback and user experience on the site and this will be incorporated into the ‘You said, we did’ report to be presented to members in April.
