Tamworth Borough Council is delighted to announce that four more community projects are now crowdfunding as part of the ‘We Are Tamworth’ programme bringing the total to five live campaigns.

Delivered in partnership with Spacehive and funded through the government’s community recovery fund, the funding programme empowers residents, charities and community groups to create and deliver projects that build stronger, more connected communities across Tamworth.

Four of the five projects from the first funding round have already been fully funded and are now underway, demonstrating the programme’s success in helping local ideas move from vision to reality.

The new projects now live are:

  1. Hygiene Hub for Tamworth – Providing free access to essential hygiene products for individuals and families in need, helping to reduce health inequalities and ensure dignity for everyone in the community.
  2. Motivations: Educational Workshops for Young People – A creative and motivational series of workshops that build confidence, teamwork and personal growth through practical learning experiences for young people in Tamworth.
  3. Joy, Hope and Harmony – A community-led project blending gospel music, crafts and conversation to strengthen connections, celebrate creativity and bring people together in a welcoming, inclusive space.
  4. The Art of Tamworth – A new annual arts event showcasing local artists, performers and makers, celebrating Tamworth’s creativity and cultural diversity through exhibitions, workshops and live performances.

Councillor Sarah Daniels, portfolio holder for cooperative council, community partnerships and antisocial behaviour, said: It’s fantastic to see local projects coming forward through the ‘We are Tamworth’ programme. These new initiatives show how creative, compassionate and community-minded Tamworth people are.

“The programme is all about giving residents and groups the tools to make a difference. Every donation, big or small, helps bring these ideas to life and together they’re shaping a stronger, more inclusive Tamworth.”

Tamworth Borough Council will also pledge up to £5,000 per project, covering no more than 50% of the total target, helping local campaigns get closer to success through match funding.

Residents and organisations can explore all current projects, make a donation, or start their own idea at: https://www.spacehive.com/movement/tamworth/projects

Further funding rounds will open in 2026, inviting even more community-led ideas that bring people together and strengthen local pride. The programme continues to grow, showcasing how partnership, creativity and shared investment can make real change in local communities.

The ‘We Are Tamworth’ programme is delivered by Tamworth Borough Council in partnership with Spacehive and funded through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s £600,000 Community Recovery Fund. The programme was created following the civil unrest in Tamworth on 4 August 2024 to enhance community cohesion and rebuild social trust.
