Explore a Winter Wonderland and meet Santa at our enchanting grotto, say hello to festive characters, reindeer, and soak up the sparkle of Tamworth’s Christmas celebrations.
Festivities begin at 12 noon with a fun day of activities for the whole family counting down to the official Christmas lights switch-on at 7pm.
- Treat yourself to delicious food and drink
- Enjoy live stage performances from local acts from 2pm onwards
- Experience the fun of Barker’s Family Fun Fair
- Browse Christmas market stalls for seasonal gifts and treats
- Meet Santa in the grotto experience
- Spot the Grinch and other festive walkabout characters
Why not also make a day of it and stop off at Ankerside Shopping Centre for the Christmas Toy Fair from 9am to 6pm.

Parking: please consider using public transport where possible. The castle grounds is a 10 minute walk from Tamworth Railway Station (where there is also a taxi rank) and just over a 5 minute walk from the main bus terminus... but if you need to travel by car, you can find info about nearby council-run car parks here. (Castle car park will be closed for this event) Ankerside Shopping Centre also has a car park and is next to the grounds.
