Tamworth Borough Council is inviting council housing tenants and leaseholders to a consultation roadshow, to share opinions on the draft tenant involvement and engagement strategy.

Following a successful tenants and leaseholders’ conference in September, the consultation is now going ‘on the road,’ to offer a series of sessions at local venues, making it as accessible as possible for more tenants to join and share their thoughts.

Roadshow locations include the Town Hall, High Rise social club and at council sheltered housing accommodation. The sessions give tenants the opportunity to look at the draft tenant involvement and engagement strategy for 2025-2030 and help shape the future of how tenants can have a greater say in their housing services.

The hope is that as many tenants and leaseholders as possible will come along to a session so the council receives some representative and useful information, that can help inform future service improvements.

For any tenants who can’t attend one of the roadshows, a short on-line survey, is available on the council’s website at Consultation | Tamworth Borough Council, along with a copy of the draft strategy and the full roadshow calendar.

The consultation will run from Monday 18 November 2024 to Friday 29 November 2024.

For more information, please contact the tenant involvement team on 07580 704039 or 07891 122613 during the opening hours: Monday to Thursday 8.45am - 5.10pm and Friday 8.45am - 5.05pm.

Councillor Ben Clarke, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Homelessness and Planning, said: “We had a great turnout to our conference in September, but we wanted to reach out for more tenants to be involved and attend one of the roadshow sessions.

“The sessions offer a chance for all council tenants and leaseholders to help shape the future of housing services at Tamworth Borough Council.

"We believe it is important that we work with our tenants and leaseholders in a fair, open and transparent way, putting our residents at the heart of everything we do. The sessions will assist us to identify what really matters most to them, and where we can enhance our services to provide the best possible experience.

"Our aim is to make Tamworth a people-first council that listens to our residents and tenants; and we’re hoping to welcome those we already work with and those who may not have joined our conference, to capture more of our residents feedback.”
