Our Corporate Plan provides this shared direction by bringing together our long‑term ambitions for Tamworth and setting out the priorities that guide our decisions, services, and investment.

Drawing on our refreshed approach to the State of the Borough Report 2025/26 and ongoing engagement with residents, businesses and partners, we have strengthened our understanding of local needs, emerging challenges, service inequalities, and opportunities for improvement. This insight underpins our updated priorities, ensuring they remain relevant, achievable and focused on outcomes that matter most to our communities.

Although the plan spans five years, it is reviewed annually to reflect progress, new evidence, and the realities of the financial and operating environment. Each year, an Annual Delivery Plan translates our strategic priorities into clear activities, milestones, and performance measures. This means residents can see what we aim to achieve and when we will deliver it.

Robust monitoring arrangements, supported by enhanced performance reporting and accountability structures, ensure we remain transparent about our progress. Senior officers and elected members review performance regularly, helping us to identify risks early, address challenges quickly, and maintain a strong focus on improvement.

The Corporate Plan also continues to steer our wider transformation journey – modernising services, improving digital access, strengthening community engagement and ensuring the council remains financially resilient. It also ensures we focus our resources where they will have the greatest impact.
