Councillor Lewis Smith, portfolio holder for people services, leisure and engagement, said: “This summer why not keep active with our free biking sessions or join a rounders team, taking place in our Castle Grounds or at the newly refurbished Anker Valley sports complex?

“We are offering a range of bike sessions for beginners and all ages, to confidence building for adults. Cycling is a perfect way to get active and enjoy some of the beautiful open spaces that Tamworth has to offer. It is also a great way to commute and help reduce carbon emissions.

“Rounders is always a firm favourite in schools, but why do we stop playing as soon as we leave school? Let’s fall in love again with this active game and maybe make new friends too this summer?”
