Tamworth Enterprise Centre is based in the historic Philip Dix House in Corporation Street in the heart of Tamworth town centre.
It was built in 1911 by Staffordshire Territorial Forces Association as the North Staffs Army Drill Hall. It was renovated for public use in 1994, when it was renamed in honour of a long-serving councillor and former Mayor of Tamworth, Philip Dix.
After a stint as the town’s tourist information centre, it was converted into serviced offices in 2017 and has been fully occupied ever since.
Tamworth is home to a thriving community of small businesses across all sectors. It is a town of enterprise and entrepreneurship, and the centre was created by the council to help support this vital part of the economy.
The location
Tamworth Enterprise Centre is located in the centre of town, a short drive from the main motorway networks including the M42 and M6, and a 10-minute walk from Tamworth train station.
One of the town’s main bus hubs is directly outside for easy public transport access.
Parking
The centre has its own free car park for tenants, and there is a public car park directly next to it, as well as a variety of public town centre car parks, all within a short walking distance.
The surrounding area
The beautiful and popular Tamworth Assembly Rooms theatre is directly opposite, which brings thousands of visitors to the town each week to enjoy its packed programme of events.
Just a few metres away, you’ll find the historic market town centre, including shops, restaurants, cafes, independent and larger hotels, the historic Tamworth Castle, extensive pleasure grounds, and much more.
The town is currently undergoing a major multi-million-pound regeneration programme to bring even more visitors to the area. You can read all about plans to transform Tamworth here.

What our tenants say
One of the main benefits of Tamworth Enterprise Centre is the close knit community of businesses that has formed around it.
Businesses who use the centre often collaborate with each other through shared services and support, and enjoy having like-minded entrepreneurs to talk to over a coffee in the communal kitchen area.
Here’s what some of the centre’s tenants have to say.
“Overall, the TEC has been a great boost for my business, getting visibility in the local area, and allowing me to take advantage of a great infrastructure for my business at a very small cost. Knowing that with the team on site I can grow as I need to and not worry about space/cost. It’s a perfect central location and all the people fit perfectly together to create a great community of businesses that all stand together.”
