As Tamworth Borough Council progress plans for the town centre Future High Streets project, work on St Editha’s Square will start from 11 November. To allow the work, all street traders and market traders who use the square are temporarily moving to other parts of the town.

Tamworth Borough Council are working in partnership with local company, Retro Graphix, to provide them with out of date advertising banners so they can turn them into waterproof sleeping bag shells to keep homeless people warm and dry.

In preparation for work starting on St Editha’s Square, a subtronic survey has been carried out to map all the power cables, data cables, drainage and sewerage pipes hiding under the surface.
